Fuqua alumni and General Electric representatives Suhash Bhavsar '06, Sarah Yellin '05 and Greg Coy '04 joined GE recruiter Lori Hess to present its 2007 Partnership Award to Career Management Center Director Sherlye Dirks and her staff this January. Each year, the GE Partnership Award recognizes a select number of career centers that the company feels epitomize the concept of employer-university partnerships. The Fuqua School of Business is one of forty schools that GE refers to as "Executive Schools," around which GE focuses its greatest recruiting efforts and from which it draws a significant percentage of new hires each year. The General Electric recruiting team noted that the Duke MBA Career Management Center (CMC) has consistently demonstrated what it means to be a true employer partner. This past fall, the CMC worked closely with GE to produce several major events that took place on campus, including a live, on-site broadcast with the VP of Ecomagination, a live two-way satellite broadcast with the CEO, and several other events during the heart of fall recruiting season. Congratulations to Sheryle and the CMC staff for this well deserved recognition.
