GE Healthcare Quality Leadership Program (QLP)

QLP is a two-year program committed to growing GE Healthcare’s masters level, high-potential candidates with a passion for driving change, developing business acumen, and excelling according to GE values. Selected candidates will gain expertise through accelerated technical coursework and three, 8-month rotations working on business critical assignments within the fast-paced Quality environment.

Rotational assignments will focus on: Regulatory Affairs including International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Food and Drug Association (FDA), Production & Process Controls, Complaint Mgmt/Corrective and Preventive Action, Design Control, Validation & Verification, New Product Introduction, Document Control, Supplier Quality, Audit, and Quality Improvement Tools.

  • Master’s degree in engineering, science, biology, clinical research, health policy, health product regulation, public health, quality assurance or related field and relevant internship/co-op/work experience preferred
  • Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0

What is QLP?

The Quality Leadership Program (QLP) is GE Healthcare's premier development program for high potential individuals seeking a career in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs. QLP is the cornerstone for the development of future business and quality leaders at GE Healthcare. The program consists of 3 eight-month rotational assignments across GE Healthcare businesses combined with an intensive training curriculum.


How does the QLP recruiting process work?

Students at select campuses where GE recruits may apply at their Career Placement Office and through www.gecareers.com. All others may apply online. There are three steps to the recruitment process: resume screen, on-campus interview / phone screen, and a final interview on site at GE Healthcare. Candidates selected from the interviews will be offered a QLP position at GE Healthcare.


Does the program differ based on the business that I choose to work in?

Currently the Quality Leadership Program is only offered at GE Healthcare.


What kind of work will I be doing on QLP?

The nature of the work will depend upon the assignment; however, many similar experiences exist across rotations. QLPs will be given challenging assignments in Regulatory Affairs, Production & Process Controls, Complaint Handling, Corrective and Preventative Actions, Pre and Post Market Product Safety Surveillance, Design Controls, Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, Quality Management System Compliance and Global Audit. Almost all rotations involve interaction with high-level management and exposure to other functions. QLP assignments become more challenging as you gain additional experience.


What type of training will I receive? What will I be learning?

In addition to hands-on job assignments, program members will participate in courses that will help strengthen their technical abilities, business acumen and leadership skills. Furthermore, all QLPs will attend a course at GE’s Crotonville Campus, and participate in roundtables with GE Leadership.


Does QLP hire international students?

QLP is currently offered within the United States and applicants must be authorized to work in the US full time and without restriction.


Will I relocate while on program? Are moving expenses reimbursed?

Yes, it is possible that you may move while on program. If a move is required, GE will pay for moving expenses and provide relocation assistance. Geographic mobility is a requirement for QLPs.


Can QLPs do an international rotation?

International rotations will not be offered unless there is a significant need within the business.


What can I expect after the program?

QLP is designed to accelerate your development and prepare you for positions with a significant level of responsibility. Based on your performance, experience and demonstrated abilities you can compete for off-program assignments ranging from a Product Safety Engineer working in Diagnostic Imaging, a Quality Assurance Leader working with Clinical Systems, a Supplier Quality Team Leader or as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist. Career development will always be a priority for QLPs.
