Summary
A program offered by GE Water & Process Technologies to accelerate the development of technically oriented sales and service professionals. The program is 24 months in duration. Participants are required to engage in technical, sales, and leadership training offered by the company in a variety of methodologies including online, hands-on, and classroom training. On program, candidates will have exposure to regional technical experts, as well as sales leadership to broaden their experience. Our top regional representatives also guide program members throughout their assignments to ensure they are exposed to the most important aspects of solutions selling, and mentor members for future career development. The ultimate outcome is 360-degree exposure to GE's proven sales, service, & value delivery model. This program, unique to GE Water & Process Technologies, has served as a strong foundation in building the pipeline for future sales leaders.
Position description:
Sales Development Program Members participate in an intensive technical / selling skills training program to prepare members for a future position in Technical field sales.
- Works on the Value Delivery team to provide value & meet service needs of current customers.
- Participates in plant visits to gather samples, observe instruments, and obtain information and analyzes/interpret results and reports any corrective actions to the customer.
- Builds upon internal relationships and starts to develop strong relationships with customers.
- Effectively coordinates relationships and interfaces with the Growth Team, Commercial Operations, Technical Marketing, Product management and other functions.
- Documentation of observations at plant visits updates and contributes final reports intended for an internal audience.
- Collects samples (water, paint, deposit, resin, or fuel) from designated locations at a customers site and conducts selected analytical test. Test results are to be summarized and prepared for review or shipped to the designated laboratory for analysis.
- Maintains a current supply of reagents, sample containers, and shipment containers necessary for routine as well as special sampling and analysis.
- Monitors and records chemical usage rates, tank levels, and chemical pump output.
- Calibrates feed pumps, controllers, and prepares feed rate charts. Conducts preventative maintenance-Repairs on chemical feed pumps, controllers and instrumentation.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering; Biology or Chemistry
- Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA is required
- Valid Drivers License is required
- Candidate required to submit to background investigation (Motor vehicle record, criminal, education and prior employment), physical evaluation and drug screen
- Willingness to reside in location of posting and willingness to travel within territory
Desired:
- Formal training in chemistry/biology (college, military, technical school) preferred
- Internship, co-op, or full-time work experience in sales and/or the water treatment business preferred
- Solid record of accomplishments/achievements throughout education and employment career (ie. internship/co-op experience)
- Strong communication/leadership skills with an energetic style, able to energize others
- The candidate must be willing to work independently (after proper training) and be a self-starter.
- Ability to execute for results and the edge to make tough decisions
- A great passion for selling and winning.
- Demonstrated sales/people skills and/or aptitude.
- Demonstration that he/she has the aptitude to succeed in a technical and relationship driven business.
- Solid troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- The candidate must have personality traits that include integrity, tenacity, perseverance, empathy, and a can-do, positive attitude.
- The candidate must be willing to work long hours, at times, and be a team player. Flexibility is a must.
