What is ECLP?
The Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP) is GE’s premier development program for high potential individuals seeking a career in sales and marketing. ECLP is the cornerstone for the development of future business and commercial leaders at GE. The program consists of 4 six-month rotational assignments across a GE business combined with an intensive curriculum.
How does the ECLP recruiting process work?
There are four steps to the recruitment process in the EMEA region: 1) Submit online application, 2) Resume & telephone screen, 3) Corporate interview 4) Business interview. Candidates successful after these four steps will be offered an ECLP position within a GE business segment. All successful candidates must be available to start 1st July 2007.
Does the program differ based on the business that I choose to work in?
The program's philosophy, goals and basic structure of a combination of rotational assignments and global curriculum are the same no matter which business you choose. The only difference is the industry experience you will acquire and locations where you will be rotating.
Can ECLPs do an international rotation?
International rotations can be available based on performance, skills and business needs.
Can I choose the GE Business where I want to do my rotations?
Applicants are given the opportunity to choose the business that they would like to join. We try our best to align applicant’s geographic and business preferences with internal business hiring needs; however, there is no guarantee that you will be offered an ECLP assignment at your preferred business or location.
What kind of work will I be doing on ECLP?
The nature of the work will depend upon the assignment; however, many similar experiences exist across businesses. ECLPs will be given challenging assignments in marketing and sales that may range from market forecasting, pricing analysis, lead generation, and strategic marketing plan development to actual sales work, including tele-sales and direct sales. Almost all rotations involve interaction with high-level management and exposure to other functions. ECLP assignments become more challenging as you gain additional experience.
What type of training will I receive? What will I be learning?
In addition to hands-on job assignments, coursework is designed to accelerate development and complement rotations through eight weeks of classroom training, distance learning and in-residence global seminars.
Does ECLP hire international students?
ECLP is a global program run in the Americas, China, Japan, India, Europe and the Middle East. Recruiting is done locally and through each country specific website, accessible from gecareers.com.
Will I relocate while on program? Are moving expenses reimbursed?
Yes, you could move up to 4 times whilst on program. Assignment locations are based on business needs. If a move is required, GE will assist with all moving and relocation expenses. Geographic mobility and flexibility is a requirement for ECLPs.
What can I expect after the program?
ECLP is designed to accelerate your development and prepare you for positions with a significant level of responsibility. Based on your performance, experience and demonstrated abilities you can compete for off-program assignments ranging from broad Sales and Marketing Territory Management to specialized roles in Market Development, Pricing or Sales Force Effectiveness. Career development will always be a priority for ECLPs.
